Donna Shiflet Hartman

Donna S. Hartman, 78, of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday December 13, 2017 at the Sentara RMH Medical Center.
Mrs. Hartman was born on March 26, 1939 in Dayton, and was daughter of the late Roy Hyzen and Annie Rebecca (Myers) Shiflet. She was a long time member of the Mt. Clinton United Methodist Church. Donna enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, gardening and putting together puzzles.
On May 10, 1958, she married Jearl Hartman who survives.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hartman is survived by three daughters, Cathy Payne and husband Mark of Bridgewater, Sandra Dove and husband Ernie Taft of Ash, NC, Susan Hartman of Dayton; two granddaughters, Samantha Smith of Clarendon, NC, Rebecca Fairley of Shallotte, NC; four great-grandchildren, Alexis Babb, Madyson Babb, both of Stuarts Draft, Daelyn Fairley and Raven Stevenson, both of North Carolina; two sisters, Juanita Smith of Dayton, June Counts of Harrisonburg; and one brother, Rodney Shiflet of Dayton.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Ritchie and Frances Yannul; four brothers, Charles Shiflet, Linwood, Shiflet, Glen Shiflet, and Roy Wayne Shiflet.
Burial will be held privately.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11 AM at Mt. Clinton United Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Poeckert and Pastor Jerry Shiflet officiating.
There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home and the casket will remain closed. Friends may call at any time at the home.
