Kenneth Knight

Kenneth Acker Knight, 90, a resident of Singers Glen, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Sunnyside Retirement Community.

Mr. Knight was born on October 7, 1935 in Rockingham County and was a son of the late Benny Knight and Ruby Donovan Knight Miller. He lived most of his life in Singers Glen and kept weather records from the age of 9 years old until a few years ago.

He completed two years of Volunteer Service during his younger years in Virginia Beach and later worked for Rockingham Poultry. He attended Timberville Mennonite Church and was a past member of Zion Hill Mennonite Church.

Surviving are his brothers, David Knight and wife Lois, Danny Knight and wife Shirley, Garland Knight and wife Bonnie; half-sister, Maxine Reedy; a number of nieces and nephews; and his good friends, David and Shirley Seal.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his longtime friend, Marylee Yankey; sisters, Loretta Summers and Evelyn Summers.

Fred Rodes will conduct a funeral service on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow privately.

Those wishing to view and sign the register book may do so on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
