Everett Eye, 86

            Everett Eye, 86, a resident of Hinton, passed away on February 16, 2012.

            Mr. Eye was born on September 25, 1926 in Rockingham County and was the son of the Roy and Bessie Payne Eye.  He owned and operated Everett’s Exxon for over forty years.  He was a member of Harrisonburg United Brethren Church in Christ.

            Surviving are four children, Dana Wilfong and husband John of Ottobine, Wayne Eye and wife Doris of Clover Hill, Phillip Eye and wife Sharon of Mt. Crawford, James Eye of Hinton; seven brothers and sisters, Bill Eye of Mount Clinton, Silvia Wheelbarger of Clover Hill, Nancy Pennington of Ottobine, Lillie Simon, Reba Simons both of Hinton, Polly Lambert of Briery Branch, Betty Horan of Franklin; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

            Mr. Eye was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

            Pastor Harold Myers, Jr. will conduct a memorial service on Sunday afternoon, February 19, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

            The body will be cremated.
