Louise M. Sites, 83

Louise Marie Sites, 83, a resident of Life Care Center of New Market, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

            Mrs. Sites was born on December 26, 1928 in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Walter and Bertha Shifflett Southerly.  She was previously employed at Sancar and later retired from Home Health Care Services.  She was a member of Fairview Church of the Brethren at Endless Caverns.

            On July 9, 1944, she married Melvin Eugene Sites who preceded her in death on January 28, 2010.

            Surviving are a daughter, Debbie Sites, of Elkton, Virginia; eight brothers and sisters, Theodore Southerly and wife Rosa of Summerton, South Carolina; Norman Southerly and wife Mary of Port Republic, Lewis Southerly, James Southerly, Woody Southerly and wife Carolyn, Helen Kersey, all of Harrisonburg; Margie Kelley of Grottoes; and Vicky Riggles and husband Ronnie of Broadway; one grandson, Todd Brooks. 

            Mrs. Sites raised three family members in her home; Theodore Southerly, Norman Southerly and Woody Southerly.

            In addition to her husband, Mrs. Sites was preceded in death by a sister, Rosalee Shipp and a brother, Floyd Southerly.

            Reverend Louis Armentrout will conduct a funeral service at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens.

            The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home.

            Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview Church of the Brethren, 484 Fairview Road, Timberville, Virginia 22853.
